Prof. Katherine Chen

Dr Katherine Chen is an Associate Professor of Applied Linguistics and the Director of the English Language Centre at the University of Macau, and an Honorary Associate Professor at the School of English, University of Hong Kong. As an applied and sociocultural linguist, she possesses extensive experience in research, teaching, and teacher training at the University of Michigan, the University of Hong Kong, and the University of Macau. Currently, her research and teaching are centred around the discourse and application of mindfulness in higher education. Trained by the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation, she has been integrating mindfulness into university English classes to enhance teaching and learning, as well as student well-being.
